Description: Perpetuity conducted an in-depth market study to establish end user requirements for a breathalyser for drugs. The market research assessed the availability and efficiency of competing technologies and products. One of the crucial aims of the study was to establish a legal framework for the testing of individuals for drugs of abuse and to identify regulatory frameworks for determining the efficacy of devices for testing drugs of abuse.
Actionable Outputs: This research showed that there is a potential market for the product and that there is also support for it, however there was trepidation as to the accuracy of such devices. Due to these and other concerns the plans for roadside drugs testing was delayed in the UK.
