Outstanding Security Performance Awards (The OSPAs): Celebrating excellence in the Security world
The Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) are designed to be a worldwide award scheme for the recognition of outstanding performance in the security industry.
Developed and Launched by Perpetuity Research, OSPAs schemes are now open in Germany and Australia, and are in development in numerous countries worldwide.
Based on extensive research conducted by Perpetuity (Aspiring to Excellence – Perpetuity Research, 2014) each OSPAs category is based on standardised compatible criteria. This standardisation provides a unique opportunity for countries to recognise and reward excellence within their country and in future, with the development of a Global OSPAs event, compete and promote their security industry on a worldwide scale.
Guided by the principles of being independent, credible, respectable and transparent, the OSPAs aim to celebrate and promote good practice in the sector and recognise individuals and organisations who achieve excellence. Discussing the key opportunity the OSPAs scheme provides for recognition and promotion of the security industry, Martin Gill commented:
‘Security is moving from being seen as a protector of assets to a facilitator of good business… but it is moving slowly, and the sector needs to change from keeping its potential secret.’
Perpetuity research has partnered with ASW Bundesverband in the development of the German OSPAs scheme which is being held on the 11th of November in Berlin. For further information about the event please click here.
Perpetuity research and the Australian Security Industry Association Ltd (ASIAL) are working together to develop the Australian OSPAs scheme which will be held on the 22nd of October in Sydney. For further information about the event please click here.
