This report is based on responses from 2,500 investigators. What is perhaps most significant abut the findings is the extent to which financial investigation techniques help solves and provide evidence for a wide range of other offences including murder, and how the techniques used by investigators can be crucial in helping to find missing persons. One of the biggest barriers to the greater use of this approach is a lack of awareness by senior offices about its purpose.
