Martin Gill discusses CCTV on BBC Local Radio

If you missed Martin Gill discussing CCTV on BBC Local Radio on Wednesday 13th March you can listen again by playing the YouTube video embedded above. It was great to hear a caller from Leicester where Perpetuity Research is based.

Martin has been heavily involved in researching CCTV and has produced reports for the Home Office and written books on the subject. You can read more about Perpetuity’s research on CCTV over on our publications page, under ‘Security and Risk’.

  • It is clear the public feel happier with cameras there. There is a problem with information overload for the police. They simply cannot cope with the amount of evidence they are presented with! Yes it does have an effect with serious crime, this is because more effort is put in with detecting these matters. It really is not rocket science! If the resources were there to collect and present the evidence, there WOULD be more convictions..
