Derby DIP Review

In June 2008, Perpetuity was commissioned by Derby Community Safety Partnership (DSCP) to undertake a review of the first year of the re-commissioned DIP service in Derby. The review was designed to address four key areas including: engagement and retention, crime, partnership working and wraparound support. The review was a qualitative study and consultation with local stakeholders and 29 DIP clients found that overall the DIP in Derby was having a positive impact on the lives of drug using adults within the criminal justice system. The final report presented to the CSP proposes a number of recommendations and provides the foundation on which to develop and improve the DIP in Derby.

Kerry Hodges, Assistant Head of Service for Young People and Criminal Justice made the following comment about the review:

“We are really pleased with the report Perpetuity have produced, it has provided a sound evidence base to steer the development of the programme going forward.”
