Insurance Ireland Conference: Managing Risk and Preventing Fraud

On 20th of November Martin Gill spoke at a conference organised by Insurance Ireland on tackling fraud. There were four talks in all, and delegates learnt more about the role of the Insurance Fraud Bureau and its relationship to the Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department, and it was emphasised that the word Enforcement is key here. Ireland has different rules, not least in relation to data protection and privacy and there was an enlightened discussion about the role of law in either helping or undermining crime prevention initiatives. Martin spoke about the value of learning from offenders and the unique insights they can provide.
